The Ledger

Privacy Policy

What data The Ledger collects, what it doesn't, and why.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

The short version

This site has no cookies, no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no tracking of any kind. It’s a set of static HTML files served from a content delivery network.

What is collected

Server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) records standard request data: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and response status. This is used for security and abuse prevention. We don’t have a dashboard that shows us individual visitors.

Nothing else. There’s no form on this site, no newsletter signup, no comment system, no account. We don’t set cookies and we don’t use local storage.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare serves the site and processes requests. Their privacy policy applies to that processing.
  • No third-party fonts, scripts or embeds are loaded. The site uses fonts already installed on your device.

Articles link to outside sources — regulators, providers, research. Once you follow one of those links, that site’s privacy policy applies, not ours.

Your rights

Because we don’t store personal data, there’s usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you’ve emailed us, that message sits in an inbox; ask and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date above changes with it.
